Instagram is rolling out a new feature that allows users to schedule posts and reels in the mobile app up to 75 days in advance. Instagram has finally rolled out a feature that allows users to schedule posts.
Until now, it hasn’t been possible to schedule Instagram posts in the app. Users previously had to go through third-party tools or use desktop solutions like Meta Business Suite. Now you can schedule Instagram content with nothing more than the iOS or Android app that’s already on your phone. The only caveat is you need to have a professional account. If you use Instagram for business, you likely have a professional account. If not, it’s free and easy to upgrade from a standard account.
This feature is for those who have always wanted to schedule their posts on the platform but had to rely on third-party apps for the purpose.
Instagram began rolling out the new feature on 8 November for those who have always wanted to schedule their posts on the platform but had to rely on third-party apps for the purpose.
“We’re rolling out content scheduling tools right in the Instagram app – so you can choose to schedule a picture, carousel, or Reel up to 75 days in advance,” Instagram said in a post on its official updates account, Creators.
Users can navigate to the ‘Advanced Settings’ menu. They’ll find a toggle named ‘Schedule this post.’ When turned on, it allows the user to select the date and time when they want the post to be published
You can schedule a picture, video, carousel, or reel in the Instagram app up to 75 days in advance. To do so:
Schedule content from the Instagram post composer by tapping Advanced settings and selecting Schedule this post.
Select the time and date you want the content to go live and tap Schedule. That’s it—your content is ready to publish!
Moreover, Instagram has announced that it is expanding its digital collectible toolkit for creators on the platform.
According to Instagram, creators will unlock achievements related to specific actions when creating a Reel. These include collaborating with another creator through Collabs tool, Add Yours sticker or Remix, besides making Reels more interactive with polls or quizzes.
Achievements can also be unlocked by using trending audio or effects to join the conversation and making more than one Reel in a week.
Achievements that are unlocked will be visible via a notification once a Reel is published. The ‘…’ menu on a Reel will help users keep a track of their achievements and possible unlockables.
